Job summary

Experis UK is partnering with a growing software organisation to hire an AI Models Lead. You will own the development, fine-tuning, and production delivery of domain-specific AI models within a large-scale programme.

At an early stage, you will build a fine-tuning capability from first principles and shape how models are evaluated, deployed, and governed in real-world, regulated environments. Expect hands-on leadership and strategic impact.

Qualifications

• Proven experience fine-tuning ML/LLM models in production.
• Deploying AI models at scale and understanding failure modes.
• Hands-on with Generative AI architectures and frameworks.
• Strong Python engineering and ML tooling.
• Experience in cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Ability to lead and mentor teams.
• Excellent communication with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead end-to-end model fine-tuning strategy (SFT, LoRA/QLoRA).
• Select and evaluate base models (Mistral, Qwen, Phi, Falcon) by performance and cost.
• Define evaluation frameworks to ensure production-grade quality.
• Build and scale fine-tuned models for multiple product use cases.
• Own experiment design, tracking, benchmarking, and iterations.
• Collaborate with data, domain, and product teams to translate requirements into model behavior.
• Lead and grow a team of ML Engineers while staying hands-on.
• Drive models through to production with robustness and scalability.
