Weir is a global leader in mining technology, delivering sustainable solutions from the heart of Scotland's Glasgow region. In a hybrid role, you will help shape enterprise AI governance while collaborating across Legal, Compliance, Privacy and Cyber Security teams.

The AI Governance Manager will own the governance framework, manage AI risk, monitor regulatory readiness, and drive responsible AI initiatives across data, governance, and assurance activities to support safe, ethical, and compliant

Qualifications

Knowledge of AI regulatory frameworks, including the EU AI Act.
Experience in AI governance, data governance, model risk management, technology risk, compliance or privacy.
Strong understanding of AI technologies, machine learning, and generative AI.
Excellent stakeholder management, able to influence senior leadership.

Responsibilities

Maintain and improve the enterprise AI Governance Framework with policies, standards, procedures and controls.
Lead AI risk identification, assessment, monitoring and mitigation across the lifecycle.
Monitor regulatory readiness and embed responsible AI into operations; partner with Legal, Compliance and Privacy teams.
Oversee AI use case governance, assess risks and escalate high‑risk initiatives; travel may be required.
Collaborate with Data Governance and Privacy teams to ensure data quality and governance alignment.
Develop governance metrics, KPIs and dashboards for leadership and risk oversight.
Promote Responsible AI awareness and change enablement across the organisation.
Demonstrate zero‑harm safety mindset in all governance activities.
