Job summary

RNLI is seeking an AI Governance Lead to develop and maintain the organisation's AI governance framework, overseeing policy, standards, and risk management. You will ensure responsible AI adoption across functions, aligning with legal, information governance, and ethical standards, while collaborating with Information Security, Legal, and Communications teams.

The role requires strategic direction, governance process development, and the ability to drive safe AI use across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Management, or Digital Technologies, with a demonstrated AI learning path.
• Experience in a similar role as a subject matter expert on AI, researching, evaluating, or applying digital or AI tools to solve business problems.
• The ability to translate technical concepts into accessible guidance for users.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess user needs and determine suitable AI solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve the organisation's AI governance framework.
• Provide leadership for AI policy, standards, controls, assurance, risk management and responsible adoption practices.
• Ensure AI technologies align with strategy, legal obligations, information governance and ethical principles.
• Work across business functions and align with Information Security, Data Protection, Legal and Communications.
• Develop governance processes, oversee assurance activities and support executive decision-making.
