Job summary

i2 Group is seeking a Platform Software Engineer on a full-time, permanent basis. This remote role requires monthly attendance at the Cambridge offices, and you will help build and operate the platform across desktop, cloud, on-premise, and air-gapped environments.

You will work with AI-first workflows, define specs, own deployment tooling, and collaborate with Architects, UX Designers, and Product Managers to shape scalable, secure infrastructure and CI/CD processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with AI-first development practices preferred.
• UK national Security Check (SC) vetting may be required.
• Experience shipping software across multiple deployment targets.
• Strong collaboration with architects and product managers.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, and maintaining platform software and tooling for deployment across desktop, on-premise, cloud, and air-gapped environments.
• Creating production-grade container images and interfaces to hosting platforms.
• Owning deployment and upgrade stories for stateful distributed components.
• Delivering releases to customers across diverse environments and supporting upgrade paths.
• Developing internal platform capabilities to enable self-service for R&D teams.
• Maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines and internal developer tooling.
• Instrumenting deployments and the delivery pipeline to base decisions on data.
• Contributing to architectural decisions and ensuring AI-generated output meets specs.
• Owning the testing strategy for deployments.
