Job summary

Cultivarium seeks a driven engineer with an AI‑first mindset to build and scale AI platforms powering biology research. You’ll design and ship services, pipelines, interfaces, and infrastructure, collaborating with wet‑lab scientists, computational biologists, and platform engineers.

This is an in‑person role at London, UK or Watertown, MA. You will own deployments, apply engineering rigor, and contribute to durable software foundations for an agentic research platform, while maintaining high

Qualifications

• AI can be transformative; proactively build tooling to stay on the cutting edge.
• Authorized to work without sponsorship.
• Bachelor's in CS or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3–7+ years shipping production systems with visible outputs.
• Strong proficiency in Python or Go and frontend basics (React/Next.js).
• Experience deploying services in a major cloud; cost awareness and testing.
• Hands-on with LLMs and AI coding tools via APIs and tooling.
• Clear communicator who explains tradeoffs to engineers and non‑engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own full‑stack systems powering AI platforms and data pipelines.
• Create APIs, tool servers, and integrations linking LLM agents to lab data systems.
• Prototype with coding agents; iterate prompts, tools, and workflows for reliability.
• Architect decisions across agents, data, infra, and UX; write clean, well‑tested code.
• Present work, mentor teammates, and share engineering best practices.
• Take ownership and push the team to excel in service of science.
