Job summary

Biometric Talent Ltd in Manchester is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join their Platform Engineering team. This software-focused role uses coding to improve reliability, observability and performance in a large-scale production environment.

You will collaborate with Development, Platform Delivery and IT Operations to build tooling, automation and monitoring. The role supports an AI-native engineering approach, with opportunities to apply LLM tools and coding assistants

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering experience with Python or Golang.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting and observability.
• Knowledge of OpenTelemetry and modern observability practices.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Write and contribute code to improve service reliability and observability.
• Develop tools, automation and APIs to improve system management.
• Establish proactive monitoring and alerting across complex platforms.
• Instrument services and build dashboards using Grafana, Splunk and New Relic.
• Automate manual processes to reduce toil and support incident resolution.
