Job summary

bet365 Group seeks a Site Reliability Engineer to improve reliability, observability and performance across critical systems. You will implement service instrumentation with OpenTelemetry-inspired practices, enhance logging, and drive AI-native approaches to reduce toil.

You will collaborate across teams, contribute to SLIs/SLOs, and help shape a culture of continuous improvement. This hybrid role aligns with bet365's flexible work-from-home policy and enterprise-scale uptime goals.

Qualifications

Knowledge of SRE principles, including SLI/SLO/uptime.
Excellent knowledge of observability tools like Splunk, New Relic, Grafana and PagerDuty.
Shell scripting for automation and system management tasks.
Experience with IaC and automation/ orchestration tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
Experience in large scale 24/7 environments where uptime is critical.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain tools for effective management of systems, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
Automate manual tasks to reduce toil using orchestration platforms.
Write and contribute to code enhancing reliability and observability, including telemetry and tooling.
Build dashboards using telemetry data with Grafana, Splunk and New Relic.
Participate in live incident remediation and post-mortems to improve system health.
Mentor colleagues in new technologies and practices.
