Job summary

Teya, a London fintech, is seeking a Retention & Recovery Lead to own the end‑to‑end churn to collection lifecycle. You will design and operate a unified queue, integrate AI-driven retention signals, and align with risk, finance, and legal to maximise recoveries.

You will start hands‑on, build a credit control team, and shape the strategy for fraud and settlements while driving measurable improvements across the merchant lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Hands-on collections or recovery experience, including payment plans, agencies and write-offs.
• Experience with retention, churn or customer lifecycle work.
• Strong product mindset: think in journeys, systems and outcomes, not only volume.
• Proven ability to design, roll out and run new processes with quick wins and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Own the retention‑to‑recovery pipeline end to end from churn signal to write‑off or debt sale.
• Partner with data to build an AI retention engine and test holdsouts.
• Define and own the pipeline metrics and report them monthly.
• Hire and lead the credit control team as the capability scales.
• Coordinate with Risk, Commercial, Finance, Billing and Legal to align on recovery strategy.
