Job summary

Hippo, a UK-based AI-enabled digital consultancy, is hiring a Principal Design Consultant to shape user strategy across projects, maintain design standards, and drive user-centred outcomes on our most complex engagements.

You will mentor senior and intermediate designers, contribute to developing our design capability, and champion AI tool integration and agile ways of working. Strong leadership and client-facing skills are essential.

Qualifications

Extensive lead-level design experience across complex delivery environments.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams using user-centred design.
Ability to translate complex concepts into design direction with measurable outcomes.
Strong consultancy and leadership skills.
Experience adapting to new environments and ambiguous asks.
Practical experience implementing AI tools and workflows.

Responsibilities

Lead design on complex client engagements and drive user-centred outcomes across projects.
Advise senior stakeholders using data, insight and design methodologies to shape service direction.
Lead teams to design products and services meeting user needs and relevant standards.
Evolve Hippo's design practice, especially with AI and agile delivery models.
Act as a leader within Hippo's design profession and mentor practitioners.
