Job summary

Cummins is seeking a placement student engineer in Daventry to work on AI and digital engineering for Power Systems. You will contribute to projects improving engine sub-systems and efficiency through innovative testing methods.

You will gain hands-on experience across cross-functional teams, learning how a global engineering organisation operates and develops sustainable technologies. Summer 2027 start with on-site work three days a week.

Qualifications

• Studying towards Engineering, Mathematics or Physics in a STEM program.
• Preference for Mechanical, Aerospace, Motorsport or related disciplines.
• Ability to collaborate in technical teams and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, testing, and applying AI/digital tools for engine sub-system design and validation.
• Participate in zero fuel burn testing component validation and rig testing processes.
• Collect and analyse experimental/simulation data; prepare clear technical reports and visuals for decisions.
