Job summary

AXIS Capital is seeking a Data Science & AI Delivery Lead to helm AI delivery across strategic and standalone use cases. You will work closely with the Head of Data Science & AI Delivery, driving technical delivery, shaping designs, and mentoring a growing team of Data Scientists and AI Engineers.

This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong focus on production-grade AI solutions. You will lead day-to-day execution, manage multi-project pipelines, ensure quality and timely delivery, and

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering AI/ML solutions in production.
• Strong Python and ML libraries experience (scikit-learn, pandas, PyTorch or TensorFlow).
• Hands-on with Databricks and MLflow for experiment tracking.
• Familiarity with Generative AI concepts, RAG patterns, and vector search.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day delivery leadership of AI workstreams, ensuring focus and unblocked progress.
• Directly manage design, build, test, and deployment of AI solutions across projects.
• Provide technical guidance on solution design and architecture decisions; contribute hands-on when needed.
• Lead Generative AI initiatives, oversee MLOps, versioning, deployment pipelines and monitoring.
• Enforce engineering best practices and code review standards, with production-ready separation.
• Collaborate with Business Technology Solutions, Program Office, and Data Engineering teams.
• Develop and mentor Data Scientists and AI Engineers, fostering excellence and learning.
• Estimate costs and manage resources; track project pipelines and timelines.
• Stay current with AI landscape and lead proof-of-concept development for feasibility.
