Job summary

Alexander House Hotel & Utopia Spa is seeking a part-time Afternoon Tea Assistant to work in our Tea lounges and terraces. You will serve residents, spa guests and local visitors during the 12pm–5pm service window, with setup and clean-down on either side, seven days a week.

In this role you will greet guests, take orders, serve food and beverages (including alcohol), check satisfaction and handle payments.

AFTERNOON TEA ASSISTANT (part time)

£19,827,60 per annum + monthly service charge payment

30 hrs per week

The Role

A part-time Afternoon Tea Assistant is required to work in our Afternoon Tea lounges and terraces (weather permitting!) with responsibility for the service of Afternoon Teas to residents, spa guests and local visitors. Service for guests covers the daily Afternoon Tea service period of 12pm – 5pm with setup and clean down on either side, 7 days per week, so weekend shifts are part of the working week. We also operate a range of beautiful private dining rooms for special celebrations.

Main Duties

• Preparing the lounges for service
• Meeting and greeting guests
• Taking guest orders
• Serving food and beverage including alcoholic beverages
• Completing satisfaction checks
• Resolving any service issues
• Presenting bills to guests and taking payment
• Resetting the lounges at the end of the shift ready for the next service
• Ensuring work area is clean and tidy before departing

Requirements;

• 5 days, 6 hrs per day, 30 hrs per week, shift start time are 11am – 5.30pm, including weekends
• Smart appearance, excellent communication skills with apassion for guest service.
• Experience within a quality food service hotel/restaurant required
