Job summary

Rochdale Council is seeking an enthusiastic After School Club Assistant to join Redwood Clubs, providing a safe, nurturing environment for learners with SEND. The role is based at Hudson’s Walk, working term-time on a part-time basis with a focus on high-quality, inclusive after-school activities.

The appointed person will work with school staff to deliver engaging sessions, support families, and promote safeguarding and well-being.

Qualifications

• High energy and enthusiasm with initiative and a sense of humour.
• Excellent communication skills in a school setting.
• Ability to act as a positive role model for children and families.
• Experience working with learners, preferably in childcare/out-of-hours settings.

Responsibilities

• Set up and clear away equipment at the start and end of each session.
• Supervise learners and ensure safety at all times.
• Meet and greet parents/carers and provide feedback on learners' time at the club.
• Assist with planning and delivery of engaging activities; encourage creative play.
• Support a fun, stimulating, inclusive environment for all learners.
• Contribute ideas to daily activity planning and organisation.
• Monitor equipment condition and safety.
• Provide personal care to learners when required.
