Job summary

A recruitment firm in the aerospace sector is seeking a Contract Technical Author for a 6-month hybrid contract near Salisbury. The role involves creating documentation for complex UAV platforms and producing operating manuals, training materials, and structured documentation aligned with S1000D and STE. Ideal candidates will have experience in aerospace or UAV environments, be confident with technical standards, and be eligible for Security Clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience authoring technical publications in aerospace, defence or UAV environments.
• Confident with S1000D, STE and modular documentation.
• Comfortable working independently and close to engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Create System Operating and Maintenance Manuals.
• Develop training courseware and supporting publications.
• Deliver clear, structured documentation aligned to S1000D and STE.
• Implement practical ways of working for future authoring.
