Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in the UK seeks a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer to join the Stress Engineering team. You will apply structural analysis, finite element methods, and engineering judgement to evaluate non-conformances on turbine engine components and develop robust repair and concession solutions.

Collaboration with Design, Manufacturing, Quality and Materials teams will deliver cost-effective, technically justified solutions while ensuring airworthiness and customer requirements are met

Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer with proven experience in aerospace stress analysis and structural assessment.
  • Strong knowledge of gas turbine engine components, manufacturing processes, fatigue assessment, and non-conformance management.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assess structural impact of non-conformances on turbine blades, vanes, segment liners and other engine components using analytical calculations and FEA.
  • Develop and approve repair and concession solutions ensuring compliance with standards, certification requirements and customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality and Materials Engineering to deliver cost-effective, technically justified solutions.
