Job summary

Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for an NC Programming Engineer. The role focuses on interpreting customer specifications and engineering drawings to program and verify components using NC programming techniques on CNC machines.

You will drive improvements to reduce machine runtimes, contribute to continuous improvement targets and support the production process with strong tool knowledge and fixture design.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or BSc in Engineering or equivalent.
• 5 years' experience in High Speed Machining.
• Advanced Catia V5 programming and ability to interpret complex drawings.

Responsibilities

• Engineer components using NC programming and verify on CNC machines.
• Create prove-out sheets and oversee new program prove-out.
• Understand customer specs and engineering drawings for component manufacture.
• Design fixtures and jigs for manufacturing processes.
• Create solid models and component documentation for stable processes.
• Optimize processes to shorten runtimes and reduce bottlenecks.
• Assist production engineering with material flow and machine utilization.
• Lead and coach junior engineers as required.
