Job summary
Magellan Aerospace Corporation, based in Llay, Wrexham, invites applications for a Junior NC Manufacturing Engineer. The role supports the NC Manufacturing Engineering team in developing CNC programmes and manufacturing processes, with a focus on CATIA, NC programming, tooling and machining strategies.
You will shadow experienced engineers, gain hands-on experience, and progressively take responsibility for defined tasks, with a clear pathway to becoming a fully competent NC Manufacturing
Qualifications
- GCSE or equivalent including Maths & English.
- Relevant engineering/manufacturing apprenticeship with a demonstrable interest in CNC machining.
- Desirable: High Speed Machining experience.
- Desirable: Long Bed Machining experience.
Responsibilities
- Support experienced engineers in the creation and modification of CNC programmes.
- Develop proficiency in CATIA and associated manufacturing engineering tools.
- Learn NC programming principles for CNC machining.
- Learn how to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models and specs.
- Gain knowledge of cutting tools, work holding, machining parameters and strategies.
- Shadow engineers to understand the process from engineering to production.
