Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician for an aerospace MRO operation in Surrey/West Sussex. This hands-on role focuses on precision assembly, repair, overhaul, and testing of aircraft mechanical assemblies.

You will solve mechanical challenges daily, work on engines, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems, and contribute to high-quality workmanship in a demanding aviation environment. The position is permanent with standard aerospace hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in precision mechanical assembly, repair, or overhaul.
• Knowledge of engines, gearboxes, and transmission systems is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and high workmanship standards.
• Exposure to hydraulic assembly and testing.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to create work procedures in the absence of SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble aircraft mechanical assemblies to assess condition, wear, and serviceability.
• Perform precision mechanical repairs and reassembly.
• Support “Reduce to Produce” activities to maximise component recovery.
• Interpret and apply Component Maintenance Manuals and Repair Instructions.
• Select materials, consumables, and repair methods per aviation standards.
• Bring assemblies and components back to an overhauled standard.
