Job summary

Omega is seeking a Mechanical Workshop Technician in Surrey/West Sussex to support precision assembly, repair, overhaul and testing of aircraft mechanical systems. This hands-on role requires engineers with a methodical approach and strong problem-solving skills to address daily technical challenges.

The candidate will disassemble, repair and reassemble mechanical assemblies, ensuring compliance with aviation standards and repairing components to an overhauled condition.

Qualifications

• Experience as a mechanical technician in aviation MRO.
• Ability to interpret Component Maintenance Manuals and Repair Instructions.
• Experience with precision assembly, repair, overhaul and testing of mechanical assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble aircraft mechanical assemblies to assess condition, wear, and serviceability.
• Perform precision mechanical repairs and reassembly.
• Support “Reduce to Produce” activities to maximise component recovery.
• Interpret and apply Component Maintenance Manuals and Repair Instructions.
• Select appropriate materials, consumables, and repair methods in line with aviation standards.
• Bring assemblies and components back to an overhauled standard.
