Job summary

ALTEN is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team, supporting an exciting programme. You will develop detailed 3D designs and engineering drawings using Siemens NX within a complex environment.

Mid-level role requiring 3+ years in mechanical design, aerospace exposure, and strong NX capability. On-site at Bicester, with a clearable security requirement and a mix of design and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience.
• 3+ years’ experience in Mechanical Design or CAD Engineering.
• Experience in Aerospace Industry.
• Proficient with Siemens NX; 3D models and 2D drawings.
• Able to interpret technical specifications and engineering requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify 3D mechanical designs using Siemens NX.
• Produce accurate 2D engineering drawings for manufacture and assembly.
• Design mechanical components and assemblies meeting engineering requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and technical teams.
• Review existing designs and implement necessary modifications.
• Ensure designs meet quality, manufacturing and technical standards.
• Support design reviews and resolve issues during development.
