Job summary

Safran Seats - Cwmbran (South Wales) seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to drive conception through production. You may own entire systems or modules, ensuring designs meet airframer, regulatory and customer requirements, in a hybrid work setup.

Applicants should have CATIA V5 experience, PLM familiarity, the ability to read drawings, and knowledge of tolerancing and fabrication methods such as sheet metal, plastics forming, and CNC.

Qualifications

• Qualified to a minimum degree in Mechanical / Aerospace / Structural Engineering.
• Alternatively HNC/HND or equivalent qualification with extensive experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and detail modeling of components to meet programme requirements.
• Produce designs to meet cost and weight targets.
• Communicate with customers and suppliers throughout the project.
• Participate in Design Reviews during New Product Introduction.
• Select and apply materials and processes suitable to each design.
• Ensure integration of each design element within the product.
• Check engineering packages for accuracy and completeness.
• Validate the product through prototyping, testing and DFMEA.
• Follow Best Practice guidelines in development activities.
