Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Wolverhampton is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical design activities across new and legacy products. You will develop designs, produce documentation, and support production while ensuring changes follow controlled processes.

Join a multidisciplinary team and contribute to aerospace product development with strong CAD/PLM skills, experience in heat exchangers, and a focus on robust, safe, and cost-effective solutions throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering complex design solutions in Aerospace.
• NX CAD and Teamcenter PLM proficiency.
• Knowledge of welded/brazed fabrications.
• Understanding of stress or thermal performance under load.
• Experience across the product life cycle.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for mechanical design activities across projects, including new and legacy products.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation (design calculations, reports, test plans).
• Support production activities and respond to engineering change requests.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to integrate designs.
• Participate in design reviews and drive problem-solving throughout development and validation.
