Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a junior Manufacturing Engineer for a major aerospace manufacturing programme based in Broughton. The role targets engineers with about 2-3 years of industry experience who want to advance in a highly regulated aerospace setting.

The successful candidate will collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to improve processes and ensure production docs meet the highest standards, with clearability and on-site work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience.
• 2-3 years in manufacturing/production/Process engineering in aerospace.
• Experience with FAI, SOIs/SOPs and manufacturing docs.
• Knowledge of regulated aerospace environments and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing and production engineering activities across assembly and production.
• Contribute to First Article Inspection (FAI) activities.
• Review and maintain SOIs and SOPs and other work instructions.
• Support development and improvement of manufacturing processes.
• Assist investigations and resolution of manufacturing issues.
• Ensure production documentation aligns with quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Operations and Engineering.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing.
