Job summary

Parker Meggitt is seeking a design engineer to drive the development of aerospace thermal management systems, including heat exchangers and related components. You will translate requirements into robust designs, working with cross-functional teams to meet performance, airworthiness, and manufacturability goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or related (regulated) industries.
  • Strong experience in the use of commercial CAD software systems.
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles, product design, and industry standards, with the ability to apply knowledge across technical disciplines.
  • Knowledge of GD&T principles for component design and assembly.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including forging, casting, CNC machining, welding, brazing and sheet metal forming.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset with experience applying engineering best practices and process improvements.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present technical information and collaborate with cross-functions teams, customers, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of aerospace thermal management products, including heat exchangers and mechanical components, from concept through full product lifecycle, including production implementation.
  • Interpret customer specifications and airworthiness requirements to define design parameters, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Develop detailed product specifications by analysing functional requirements, materials, performance, cost, manufacturability, and operational efficiency.
  • Create and maintain design data including engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, and bill of materials in accordance with established engineering standards.
  • Validate and verify design performance through analysis, testing, and interpretation of results, ensuring conformance to qualification requirements and reliability targets.
  • Evaluate and disposition non-conforming product in accordance with quality and engineering standards, defining and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
