Parker Meggitt is seeking a design engineer to drive the development of aerospace thermal management systems, including heat exchangers and related components. You will translate requirements into robust designs, working with cross-functional teams to meet performance, airworthiness, and manufacturability goals.

Competenze

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or related (regulated) industries.
  • Strong experience in the use of commercial CAD software systems.
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles, product design, and industry standards, with the ability to apply knowledge across technical disciplines.
  • Knowledge of GD&T principles for component design and assembly.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including forging, casting, CNC machining, welding, brazing and sheet metal forming.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset with experience applying engineering best practices and process improvements.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present technical information and collaborate with cross-functions teams, customers, and suppliers.

Parker Meggitt occupies a leading position in the design and manufacture of aircraft engine shell-and-tube and plate-and-fin heat exchangers. We are a significant supplier to both civil and military aviation, with products used on the majority of the latest aeroengines, including LEAP, PurePower and F135.

Position Overview

Responsible for the design, development, and qualification of Thermal Management Systems products for aerospace applications, supporting programmes from initial concept through production implementation. The role has a strong focus on the design of aerospace heat exchangers and associated mechanical components, requiring application of sound mechanical engineering principles and aerospace design practices to deliver innovative, reliable, and complaint solutions that meet customer specifications and airworthiness requirements.

Working in the Design Engineering team, this role will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders leading new product development and continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves translating requirements into robust design solutions, ensuring performance, quality, and manufacturability objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities
