Electus Recruitment Solutions in Whitstable seeks a skilled Chemist/Materials Engineer to lead electroplating process improvements and ensure top-quality finishes on mission-critical components. You will develop PFMEA documentation and mentor shop-floor operators while maintaining rigorous health, safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or Materials Science with a focus on metal finishing.
• Proven experience in industrial chemical handling and electroplating.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining PFMEA documentation.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimise electroplating standards to ensure high-quality finishes and minimal scrap rates.
• Develop and implement PFMEA materials for New Product Introductions and existing production lines.
• Ensure full site compliance with IPPC permits and COSHH regulations.
• Provide technical support to shop floor teams and update process instructions.
• Oversee wastewater effluent systems and coordinate hazardous waste disposal.
