Job summary

Magellan Aerospace Blackpool is seeking an Engineering Apprentice to join a three-year programme combining college study with structured on-the-job training at Blackpool Business Park. The role develops skills across manufacturing and quality tasks, with exposure to CAD/CAM software and process improvement initiatives.

Applicants should have 5 GCSEs including Maths and English and a Level 3 Engineering qualification; no prior experience is required.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSE grades C/4+ to include Maths and English.
• Level 3 Engineering qualification required.
• No previous work experience needed.

Responsibilities

• Undertake tasks suited to training, attending college as required and completing coursework on time.
• Develop quality skills through inspection of machined parts, assemblies and documentation.
• Learn to use offline CAD/CAM software to create CNC programmes.
• Assist in creating prove out sheets and set sheets per company procedures.
• Interpret customer specifications and engineering drawings accurately.
• Support process improvements to enhance machining utilisation and reduce run time.
• Provide information to management to support production continuity.
• Maintain good housekeeping and participate in continuous improvement.
