Job summary

Magellan Aerospace Blackpool invites applications for a Machining Apprenticeship. The program spans three years, during which you will rotate through engineering, quality and business support functions.

You will work 38 hours per week, with a structured onsite training plan designed to gain a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering on a Machining Pathway. Ideal candidates have GCSEs including Maths/English/Science and a Level 2 in Manufacturing or Engineering.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including Maths, English and Science or equivalent
• Level 2 qualification in Manufacturing and Engineering
• Demonstrates a logical and practical approach to tasks

Responsibilities

• Undertake tasks suited to training and attend college as required, with regular reviews.
• Develop engineering and machining skills and learn to set and operate CNC machines.
• Learn daily checks and basic maintenance to keep machines in good order.
• Provide detailed shift handover information to ensure continuous machine operation.
• Inspect work to drawings and data, using inspection equipment when needed.
• Maintain job pack completeness and record all quantity and quality requirements.
