Job summary

Magellan Aerospace Blackpool is seeking a Production Engineer to support manufacturing processes on the shop floor. You will interface between production, engineering and quality, resolve issues, and help ensure output meets targets on a unionised site.

The role involves working 40 hours weekly, with standard shifts in Blackpool and a focus on continuous improvement and safety compliance in a manufacturing environment. Aerospace background is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a recognised apprenticeship.
• Minimum 5 years experience on shop floor/engineering role.
• Minimum 5 years experience with CAD-CAM software.
• Aerospace experience would be an advantage.
• Understanding of 3, 4, and 5 axis machining and turning; core engineering knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily production and MRB meetings to gather and deliver requirements.
• Relay interface between engineering, quality and production.
• Support machine tool issues and engage suppliers to resolve.
• Support tooling issues with tooling engineers and suppliers.
• Assist in NPIs, optimisations and process improvements.
• Keep up to date with engineering processes and policies on the shop floor.
• Support plant/equipment introduction or transfer when required.
• Build strong relationships with production to meet support needs.
• Complete required training for efficiency and personal development.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental policies.
