Job summary

Magellan Aerospace Blackpool invites applications for an Engineering Apprentice. The role offers a structured, 3-year programme to achieve a Level 4 HNC, with onsite training and exposure to multiple functions within the business.

It is a full-time permanent position at Blackpool, with a clear pathway to professional qualifications. Applicants should have 5 GCSEs including Maths and English and a relevant Level 3 Engineering qualification.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSE grades C/4 and above to include Maths and English.
• A relevant Level 3 Engineering qualification.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Undertake tasks aligned to training, attend college as required, and complete coursework to a high standard.
• Develop quality skills in inspection of machined parts, assemblies, and documentation.
• Learn to use offline CAD/CAM software to create CNC programmes.
• Support the creation of prove out sheets and set sheets per procedure.
• Interpret customer specifications and engineering drawings accurately.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase machining utilisation.
• Provide information to management to support continuity of production.
• Maintain productivity with minimal supervision while promoting teamwork.
• Comply with Health & Safety policies and risk assessments.
• Take on additional duties as capabilities allow.
• Maintain good housekeeping and support continuous improvement.
