Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Component Repair Lead / Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) - Repair Design in Derby. You will provide technical leadership in developing and approving repair solutions for service-run components across the Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace engine portfolio, within a global MRO network.

The role focuses on engineering decisions, technical solutions and guidance on complex repair challenges, with opportunities to pursue CVE accreditation and collaborate across Design,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Significant aero-engine industry experience, preferably in Repair Design or Component Repair.
• Strong technical knowledge of gas turbine components, materials, manufacturing and repair processes.
• Experience developing or assessing repair solutions with airworthiness and regulatory requirements; CVE experience a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills; experience with data analytics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and substantiate repair definitions for service-run components, assessing damage and determining feasible repair limits.
• Provide technical leadership for repair design solutions, ensuring compliance with engineering, material, manufacturing and airworthiness requirements.
• Define validation and verification requirements for repair methods and demonstrate technical equivalence when methods change.
• Review and approve technical documentation, including Technical Variances and repair manuals.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering, Product Definition, Repair Technology, manufacturing, suppliers and contractors to deliver repair revisions and technical requests.
