Systems, Sub‑System & Component Design Engineers are responsible for the definition of new and existing products across the Defence product base, including aerospace and marine.
As a Design Engineer, you will create innovative world‑class designs that operate at the extremes of technology and deliver solutions that satisfy customer requirements by balancing product attributes, working with multidisciplinary teams and using design tools such as PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), CAD and DFMEA (Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis). Your solutions need to be cost‑effective, align to project milestones and take into account the full product lifecycle (e.g. manufacture, assembly, operation, repair, test and disposal).
Candidates should be highly numerate with strong technical and analytical skills, problem‑solving ability and capable of systems level thinking, including personal drive, excellent communication and presentation skills, and will need to contribute effectively in a team environment. Candidates will be expected to take the lead in identifying project requirements, specifying and executing packages of work.
