Safran Actuation Systems UK is seeking a Commodity Manager to own the commercial performance and strategic relationships for a defined portfolio of global suppliers serving our Wolverhampton and Banbury manufacturing facilities.

The role emphasizes driving total cost reduction, forward-looking sourcing roadmaps, and the negotiation of long-term agreements to ensure supply resilience and margin preservation.

Qualifications

• Proven strategic purchasing background for complex technical portfolios (machining, casting, forging, or raw aerospace materials).
• Experience structuring high-value contracts and commercial frameworks.
• Ability to navigate matrix structures and build consensus across engineering, operations, finance and quality.
• Proficient in translating spend data, cost breakdowns and industry trends into strategic direction.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute commodity strategy with multi-year lifecycle plans.
• Manage supplier panels to balance risk, optimise leverage and meet future tech needs.
• Monitor market trends and geopolitical risks to safeguard site against inflation spikes.
• Draft, validate and enforce LTAs and price frameworks.
• Own TCO savings funnel using benchmarking, cost-modelling and value engineering.
• Support civil and military bids with cost analysis and pricing projections.
• Lead quarterly business reviews with supplier leadership to align delivery and commercial goals.
• Develop exit strategies if a supplier underperforms.
