Job summary

Magellan Aerospace is recruiting a skilled CNC Machinist at Llay, Wrexham for precision 3, 5 and 6 axis machining of aerospace components. You will set up, operate and optimise machines to tight tolerances from engineering drawings in a regulated manufacturing environment.

The role is full-time with day and night shifts; you will work with safety and quality as priorities and contribute to continuous improvement and maintenance of tooling, measuring equipment and process data.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 mechanical/manufacturing engineering in CNC machining or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience on 3- and 5-axis CNC machines.
• Ability to read drawings and select tooling to tight tolerances.
• Proficient with precision measuring equipment and inspection sheets.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor 3, 5, and 6 axis CNC machines to manufacture precision aircraft components.
• Machining to specification using detailed drawings and layouts with high concentration.
• Maintain tooling, calibrate measuring equipment, and ensure quality of parts.
• Report non-conformances and support continuous improvement activities.
