Bell Farm Primary School in Walton-on-Thames is seeking an Advanced Teaching Assistant to support inclusion and learning across a 3-form entry primary setting.

You will work closely with the SENCo, deliver targeted intervention sessions, plan activities, and help pupils develop essential life skills while maintaining safeguarding and high professional standards.

Bell Farm Primary School is a vibrant, 3-form entry maintained primary school with a nursery, set in the heart of Walton-on-Thames. We are incredibly proud of our inclusive ethos and are home to The Hive, our on-site specialist centre dedicated to supporting children aged 4-11 with communication and interaction needs. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and caring Advanced Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated inclusion team., In this highly rewarding role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering targeted learning support to pupils who need extra help to thrive. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering, monitoring, and evaluating specific intervention groups.
  • Supporting our SENCo in coordinating provision for children with special educational needs.
  • Providing evidence of pupil progress to support class teachers and the SENCo.
  • Planning and organising learning activities, and preparing resources to suit pupil ability under the guidance of the teacher.
  • Promoting the well-being, social, and personal development of pupils to enhance their life skills and learning opportunities., In strict adherence to Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) 2026 guidelines, our recruitment process is rigorous and evidence-based. Please note:
  • Vetting Checks: This role is subject to strict pre-employment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate with a Children's Barred List check. If applicable, a childcare (disqualification) regulation staff declaration form will also be required.
  • Online Searches: As part of our due diligence and in line with KCSiE 2026, the school will conduct an online search (including a review of publicly available social media profiles) on all shortlisted candidates prior to interview. This helps us identify any incidents or issues that we may need to explore with you.

  • References: We will request robust professional references, which must explicitly comment on your suitability to work with children. An individual with a minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including English and Maths), or equivalent.
  • Someone with a relevant Level 2 qualification (e.g., first aid at work, ADHD, behaviour management, advanced literacy, or NNEB) or equivalent practical experience.
  • A confident communicator with strong IT skills and the ability to build excellent relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
