Devon County Council in Devon invites applications for an Advanced Social Worker within the Children & Families Service (South & West Devon). The role emphasises leadership, supervision and mentoring, guiding colleagues in complex cases and court work.

Based at Follaton House near Totnes, you’ll champion evidence-based practice and partnership working to improve outcomes for children. You’ll collaborate with the Team Manager and local partners to strengthen practice, support ongoing professional

Formación

• Post-qualifying experience of working within children and families.
• Knowledge and understanding of the legislation, models, and theories relevant to children’s social work
• The ability to build effective professional relationships with children, families, and other professionals
• Experience working within social care, including working in a multi-agency and court environment
• A social work qualification and registration with Social Work England
• Satisfactory completion of your ASYE
• A high-level of written and verbal communication skills

Responsabilidades

• Lead and supervise complex cases, including detailed assessments and court proceedings.
• Champion evidence-based practice and support day-to-day service delivery.
• Provide professional leadership, supervision and appraisal to colleagues.
• Work with the Team Manager and wider team to strengthen skills and confidence.
• Mentor, coach and develop less experienced practitioners.
• Promote timely visits and ensure safe, child-centred planning.
• Advocate for children and young people to secure permanence and positive outcomes.
