Job summary

Cumberland Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Advanced Practice Leads Team for an initial 12-month period. The post will be based in Carlisle or Workington and is for internal applicants only, with supervision under the Professional Practice Lead for Social Work.

The role supports Adult Social Care to deliver its Achieving Excellence Plan and works closely with the Principal Occupational Therapist to evidence good practice and drive improvements.

About This Opportunity

We are looking to recruit an experienced, confident, and enthusiastic Social Worker to join the Advanced Practice Leads Team. This post is for an initial 12 month period. You will work as part of a small team of Social Workers and Occupational Therapists under the supervision of the Professional Practice Lead for Social Work. The team works under the direction of the Principal Social Worker and in close collaboration with the Principal Occupational Therapist. We play a central role in supporting Adult Social Care to deliver its Achieving Excellence Plan and maintain readiness for CQC assurance.

The post also has a key role in quality assurance and governance activities, helping to evidence good practice, drive continuous improvement, and demonstrate impact.
