Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Estates Technician to join the Technical Services team. You will work under the Estates Managers and Officers, taking initiative on projects and ensuring reliable operation of building services.

You will test, service and maintain equipment (decontamination, medical gas systems, gas boilers) and diagnose faults in fire alarms, Building Management System, steam boilers and LPHW boilers.

• Work with Estates Managers & Officers to complete projects using own initiative.
• Test, service and maintain equipment such as decontamination systems, medical gas networks and gas boilers.
• Identify, diagnose and rectify faults of a complex nature in building engineering services, including fire alarms, Building Management System, steam boilers and LPHW boilers.
• Fabricate, assemble, install and commission new work.
• Carry out periodic checking, servicing and testing of plant and equipment per maintenance programmes and schedules.
• Ensure the efficient running and operation of plant and equipment by monitoring, servicing, adjusting and logging performance data.
• Participate in on-call arrangements and be flexible to client needs.
• Complete required paperwork and adhere to Trust health and safety policies and procedures.
