Job summary

West Cliff Primary School in Whitby is seeking an Advanced Teaching Assistant to work predominantly in our Early Years provision across Nursery and Reception, supporting learning, development and wellbeing. You will collaborate with teachers to deliver engaging activities, monitor pupil progress and help create an inclusive, stimulating classroom that helps every child thrive.

Qualifications

• Relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• English and maths skills at level 2/ GCSE Pass.
• Experience working with children in an education setting.
• Good understanding of child/young people's development and learning processes.
• Understanding of safeguarding children and young people requirements.
• Understanding of individual children and young people's needs.
• Inclusive practice and diverse needs.

Responsibilities

• Support engaging lessons and activities alongside the class teacher.
• Deliver support to individuals and small groups to maximise progress.
• Monitor pupil development and provide clear, timely feedback.
• Help prepare an organised, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Supervise pupils and promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively as part of a supportive school team.
• Take part in training and contribute to continuous improvement, with safeguarding compliance.
