Job summary

West Cliff Primary School in Whitby is seeking an Advanced Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive Early Years provision, supporting Nursery and Reception learners with development, wellbeing and engagement. You will work closely with class teachers, deliver targeted interventions, monitor progress and contribute to a nurturing, stimulating classroom environment that helps every child thrive.

This role requires NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, a solid grasp of child development and safeguarding

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• English & Maths GCSEs (level 2) or higher.
• Experience with children in an educational setting.
• Understanding of safeguarding requirements and child development.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Advanced Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team, working predominantly within our Early Years provision across Nursery and Reception. Working closely with teachers and other professionals, you will support children's learning, development and wellbeing through high-quality interactions, targeted interventions and engaging play-based experiences. This role would suit an experienced practitioner with a passion for Early Years education and a desire to make a lasting difference to children's lives during this crucial stage of their development.

Key Duties

You will have:

• Relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• Minimum English and maths skills at level 2/ GCSE Pass
• Appropriate experience working with children in an education setting
• Good understanding of child/ young people’s development and learning processes
• Understanding of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children and young people
• Understanding of individual children and young people’s needs
• An understanding that children/Young people have differing needs and knowledge of inclusive practice
• Ability to work successfully in a team
