Job summary

West Cliff Primary School in Whitby is seeking an Advanced Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive Early Years provision, supporting Nursery and Reception learners with development, wellbeing and engagement. You will work closely with class teachers, deliver targeted interventions, monitor progress and contribute to a nurturing, stimulating classroom environment that helps every child thrive.

This role requires NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, a solid grasp of child development and safeguarding

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• English & Maths GCSEs (level 2) or higher.
• Experience with children in an educational setting.
• Understanding of safeguarding requirements and child development.

Responsibilities

• Support engaging lessons and activities alongside the class teacher.
• Deliver support to individuals and small groups to maximise progress.
• Monitor pupil development and provide clear, timely feedback.
• Help prepare an organised, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Supervise pupils and promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.
• Work collaboratively as part of a supportive school team.
• Take part in training and contribute to continuous improvement.
