Join our team at Sheffield Walk-in Centre as Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) / Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP)

Sheffield Walk-in Centre is looking for an experienced ANP/ACP to join our forward-thinking service. This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of a dedicated and supportive team while enjoying a wide range of benefits.

You should have availability for 8 or 10 hours shifts. The shifts available are: 8am - 4:30pm; 2pm - 10:30pm; 8am - 6:30pm & 12pm - 10:30pm and will be decided on a rota basis across 7 days.

Role Overview

As an Experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) / Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP), you will:

  • Conduct face-to-face consultations with patients from Sheffield and the surrounding areas.
  • Manage acute presentations to the Walk-in Centre as an autonomous practitioner; support patients with acute, undifferentiated problems as well as chronic long-term conditions; and refer patients to appropriate pathways when necessary.
  • Provide patient-focused, evidence-based care to a consistently high standard; assess, diagnose, and plan care for patients, including prescribing medications (where qualified and clinically indicated).
  • Use your clinical expertise to determine urgency and guide patients presenting to the Walk-in Centre toward the best care pathways.
  • Support the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure patients receive care from the most suitable professional.

What We’re Looking For
  • First Level Registered Nurse (NMC), HCPC professional, or Pharmacist.
  • MSc or equivalent in Advanced Practice.
  • Advanced Physical Assessment and Consultation Skills Level 7.
  • Minor Illness Level 7.
  • Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification.
  • At least 3 years of experience post-Level 7 qualifications in primary or urgent care.
  • Paediatric Course Level 7 (desirable).
  • Ability to assess and treat patients with a wide range of conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a dynamic workload effectively.

Sheffield Walk-in Centre (https://onemedicalgroup.co.uk/surgeries/sheffield-walk-in-centre/) sees 77,500 patients annually through walk-in and those booked directly into the service through 111. We have a close relationship with local hospitals and work across the city with our external partners to ensure high-quality care for our patients. We have excellent links with specialists at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Northern General Hospital, The Children’s Hospital, Eye Casualty, and Sexual Health Centre, who provide support to our clinicians and patients attending the Walk-in Centre.

As part of the service development, we have created a wellbeing hub for patients struggling with low-level mental health and social issues. This service has grown month-on-month since inception and is expanding due to its success.
