Job summary

Practice Plus Group is recruiting an Advanced Clinical Practitioner for HMP Millsike, a Category C men's resettlement prison near York. You will lead clinical decisions within a multidisciplinary team and support secure patient care.

The role offers a bespoke induction, structured development, and access to national career opportunities. It demands registration and an autonomous, expert approach in mental health care.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse – Adult Mental Health with current NMC or Registered Paramedic with current HCPC
  • Independent/Supplementary prescriber qualification
  • MSc in Advanced Practice
  • Experience working autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide ranging and complex patient problems
  • Provide clinical leadership for the mental health team within a multi-disciplinary setting
  • Act as a role model maintaining professional standards
  • Support senior clinicians on site and contribute to daily leadership
  • Ensure patient safety and up-to-date treatment methodologies are applied

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to be the one of the first to join our team at HMP Millsike, a Category C men's resettlement prison, located in the village of Full Sutton near York. In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.

HMP Millsike will have an operational capacity of 1500 people who will spend their sentences learning the skills they need to find work on release as part of the government’s drive to cut reoffending.

Hours

Mon-Wed: 07:30-18:00

Thurs: 07:30-15:30

This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week.

Salary

You’ll receive an annual salary up to £66,792per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
  • Demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide ranging and complex patient problems
  • Provide clinical leadership for the mental health team, This multi-disciplinary team is made up of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals including; mental health, and substance misuse practitioners
  • You will act as a role model ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times
  • Supporting senior clinicians on site you will be part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients
  • As a clinical expert in your field, you will work with the team to ensure; patient safety, the management of complex cases and ensure the most up to date treatment methodology is applied to patient care.
