Job summary

Practice Plus Group is recruiting an Advanced Clinical Practitioner for the Planned Care Team at HMP Oakwood, Wolverhampton. You will lead clinical input, support a multidisciplinary team, and ensure high standards in a challenging prison healthcare environment.

The role offers a bespoke induction, competency framework, and clear routes for regional and national career development within the Practice Plus Group network. 37.5 hours weekly with a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with NMC registration in adult or mental health.
• RSCP Part 1 & 2 required.
• MSc in Advanced Practice preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate professional judgement in assessing complex patient problems.
• Provide clinical leadership for the mental health team.
• Support on-site senior clinicians and participate in daily leadership.
• Ensure patient safety and apply up-to-date treatment methodologies.
• Work with the team to manage complex cases and maintain standards.

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our Planned Care Team at HMP Oakwood, a category C Prison located in Wolverhampton. In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed. HMP Oakwood is one of the largest prison in the UK, housing over 1,500 men.

Hours

Monday-Friday 8am-4pm 4 week shift pattern. This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week.

Salary

You’ll receive an annual salary between £59,677 - £66,792 per annum - depending on experience.

What you’ll be doing

• Demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide ranging and complex patient problems
• Provide clinical leadership for the mental health team, This multi-disciplinary team is made up of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals including; mental health, and substance misuse practitioners
• You will act as a role model ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times
• Supporting senior clinicians on site you will be part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients
• As a clinical expert in your field, you will work with the team to ensure; patient safety, the management of complex cases and ensure the most up to date treatment methodology is applied to patient care.

Qualifications required

• Registered Nurse - NMC in Adult or Mental Health
• Independent/supplementary prescriber qualification
• RSCP Part 1 & 2 is Essential
• Experience in Substance Misuse prescribing is Essential
• MSc in Advanced Practice
• Experience working autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner following best practice guidance
