Job summary

Coventry City Council is seeking an experienced Assessing Social Worker to join its Adults Services team. You will complete Care Act assessments, mental capacity work and safeguarding cases, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs.

You will undertake Court of Protection work, contribute to duty rotas and work closely with families, carers and partner agencies to progress challenging cases with autonomy and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
• Experience in Adult Social Care.
• Knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding legislation.
• Experience completing Court of Protection applications and related work.
• Experience with adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism and complex needs.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload and work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Undertake Mental Capacity Assessments as per MCA.
• Carry out Section 42 Safeguarding Enquiries.
• Manage and progress Court of Protection work.
• Participate in duty work on a rota basis.
• Collaborate with service users, families, carers and partner agencies.
• Support adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and/or complex needs.
