Job summary

Coventry City Council is recruiting two experienced Social Workers for its Adult Social Care Mental Health Service. You will work within a recovery-focused framework to support adults with complex mental health needs and contribute to multidisciplinary planning.

Responsibilities include Care Act assessments, Mental Capacity Act decisions, and Section 117 aftercare reviews. The role requires robust risk assessment and active participation in a busy duty system.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Care Act.
• Experience working with adults receiving secondary mental health services.
• Strong risk assessment and risk management experience.
• Experience completing Section 117 reviews.
• Ability to work effectively within a busy duty service with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Deliver recovery-focused social work interventions for adults with complex needs.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975. As this role is eligible for an Enhanced DBS check, applicants are required to declare any cautions and convictions that are not protected under current filtering rules.
