Job Title: Learning Disability Social Worker

Please note: This is a Long Term Temporary position, starting ASAP.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Adult Social Care Learning Disability Team. The team supports adults and young people living in Blackpool by providing direct support and commissioning specialist services from providers.

Working hours: Monday to Thursday, 9am – 5pm; Friday, 9am – 4.30pm. Location: Blackpool Council Bickerstaffe Offices.

This role involves working with adults and young people with learning disabilities, completing Care Act Assessments and reviews. The position is line-managed by the Learning Disability Team Manager.

The team includes Adult Social Care staff from Blackpool Council and NHS Health staff from Blackpool Teaching Hospitals.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed social worker with:

• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Knowledge of the Care Act 2014
• Experience in safeguarding, risk management, and care management

Experience working with adults with learning disabilities and their families is essential. The successful candidate should be passionate about learning disabilities, collaborative, and a strong team player.

Essential criteria:

• Degree in Social Work
• SWE Registration
• Right to work in the UK

Additional requirements include:

• Professional qualification in social work
• Social Work England registration
• Enhanced DBS/Update service
• References covering the last 5 years of employment
