An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Adult Social Care Learning Disability Team. The team works with adults and young people living in Blackpool and provides direct support as well as commissioning specialist support from providers.
Working Monday to Thursday 9am – 5pm & Fridays 9am – 4.30pm. Based at Blackpool Council Bickerstaffe Offices.
This role involves working with and supporting adults and young people with learning disabilities, completing Care Act Assessments and Care Act reviews. The role will be line managed by the Learning Disability Team Manager.
The team consists of Adult Social Care staff from Blackpool Council and NHS Health staff from Blackpool Teaching Hospitals.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed social worker with excellent communication and organisational skills, competent knowledge of the implementation of the Care Act 2014, and experience in safeguarding, managing risk, and care management.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with adults with learning disabilities and their families, be passionate about learning disabilities, and support service users and staff teams while collaborating with colleagues and partners. To succeed, you should be an effective team player, an excellent communicator, and willing to bring energy, enthusiasm, and experience to contribute positively to the team and the people we support.
