Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a part-time social worker (21 hours per week) to join the Adult Front Door team in Worcestershire. The role focuses on telephone-based referrals, assessments and guidance for adults, families and professionals, with a strong emphasis on rapid rapport and risk assessment.

You will handle urgent duty work and collaborate with partners to ensure timely, high-quality responses, while balancing competing demands in a busy social care setting.

The Adult Front Door is the single point of access for Adult Social Care in Worcestershire, and this permanent social work post sits within its team in Adult Communities & Provider Services. Work is telephone-based, handling referrals, complex enquiries and urgent duty cases, with proportionate assessments and advice for adults, families and partners. The role is 21 hours a week with hybrid working where possible, and suits a social worker who can manage competing demands in a busy setting and build rapport quickly on the phone.
