Job summary

Everpool Recruitment is recruiting for a PIP Functional Assessor role in Fareham. You will assess how health conditions affect daily living and work, through telephonic, video and in-person sessions. Training is provided and you will join a hybrid working model across England.

The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with progression opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package. You will need NMC/HCPC registration and at least 1 year of relevant post-registration experience.

Qualifications

• 1 year of recent post-registration experience in an adult setting.
• Active NMC or HCPC registration is required.
• Strong communication and ability to write clear reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video and face-to-face assessments.
• Explore how health conditions affect daily activities and work.
• Review medical evidence and health questionnaires.
• Ask detailed questions about functional ability.
• Produce accurate reports for the DWP.
• Make recommendations based on assessment findings.

What we're looking for We are currently recruiting:

You’ll need:

• At least 1 year of recent post-registration experience in a relevant adult setting
• At least 1 year of active NMC or HCPC registration
• Strong communication and assessment skills
• Excellent report-writing and typing skills
• Good IT skills
• The ability to work independently and manage your own caseload

PIP Functional Assessor
Starting at £45,000
Increases to £46,000 after 6 months (if performance objectives are met), then again after 12 months to £47,000 plus eligibility for the bonus structure scheme (3 assessments per day)

Roles are subject to availability and service requirements in each geographical area. Ideally, candidates should be open to either PIP or WCA. Where possible, we may be able to accommodate a preference, although this cannot be guaranteed.

What will you be doing? As a Functional Assessor, you will:

• Conduct telephone, video and face-to-face assessments
• Explore how health conditions affect everyday activities and work
• Review medical evidence and health questionnaires
• Ask detailed questions about functional ability
• Produce clear, accurate and objective reports for the DWP
• Make recommendations based on your assessment findings

Full training provided
Successful candidates will complete a comprehensive 12-week training programme, covering:

• Assessment techniques
• DWP guidelines and requirements
• Report writing
• Functional assessment skills
• Role-specific training and support

You don't need previous Functional Assessor experience - your clinical experience and transferable assessment skills are what matter.
